Onsite machining is used for new manufacturing, maintenance and reconditioning of worn out equipment.
Various Onsite Machining operations such as Boring, Milling, Flange Facing, Turning, Keyway Milling, Pipe Bevelling, Pipe Cutting, Drilling, etc can be performed by Pelican’s Portable Machine Tools.
In case of new equipment manufacturing, it is mainly used when the component to be machined is too big and is not easy to be transported to a machine shop or cannot be set up easily on a conventional machine. Certain other cases of new equipment manufacturing require onsite machining when they cannot be moved or when the machining is to be done in final assembled condition on site after erection. It can also act as a parallel machine shop facility, without the huge investments of a conventional machine shop in terms of capital cost and floor space.
In case of maintenance or reconditioning of large equipment, onsite machining can be done with none or absolutely minimal dismantling. It helps avoid transport costs and hassles too.
